Farshadow, Where We Stopped is an original song from the TrueDark Rising world. It belongs to the founding of Farshadow -- the moment when the Kinsfolk, after generations of wandering, reached the Crossing and chose to stay.
The song does not celebrate victory. It records a decision. The Kinsfolk walked with night at their back, watched the dark learn every track, and arrived where the paths converged and the lake lay still. They did not claim the dark was through -- only said it lost their view. The chorus names the place with precision, not triumph: not gone, not broken, not undone -- just far enough to name the run.
The fourth verse acknowledges the presence that made the choice possible. Something stands where the water ends -- does not speak and does not bend. Where it walks, the dark will not stay. They did not name it lord or kin, but they left food where stone was warm and thanks without a form. The final line settles it simply: this place is called Farshadow.
Like all songs of this world, it serves as memory. It is meant to be sung at the founding stone, and understood fully only in hindsight.
