Lyrics

Verse I

Sit in close and share the sound,

Let your words go where they’re bound.

What is held too long inside

Turns to weight you cannot hide.

Chorus

Say it soft, say it clear,

Nothing spoken disappears.

What is named will find its place,

Truth has voice, voice sets pace.

Verse II

We’ve all walked the same hard road,

Every heart has been brought low.

Speak your piece to cast off weight,

Shared words make the tensions break.

Chorus

Say it soft, say it clear,

Nothing spoken disappears.

What is named will find its place,

Truth has voice, voice sets pace.

Verse III

Some things listen when you speak,

Some truths wake what used to sleep.

Words can mend and words can bind,

Sound leaves nothing far behind.

Quiet Verse

If a secret leaves your mouth,

Someone learns the way it goes.

Words were taught to walk ahead

Long before the speaker knows.

Final Chorus

Say it soft, say it clear,

Nothing spoken disappears.

What is named will find its place—

The Story

Nothing Spoken Disappears is an original song from the TrueDark Rising world. It reflects the era of Baelor -- the Keeper of Speech -- when the art of speaking, persuasion, vows, and the power of the spoken word were first taught to the Kinsfolk.

The song belongs to a time when silence was the greater burden. It speaks in the language of circles drawn close, of words released to find their place. Under Baelor's teaching, speech was not merely communication but craft: say it soft, say it clear, and truth will set the pace. The chorus rings with the promise that nothing spoken disappears -- that naming a thing gives it form and weight.

Yet beneath its invitation runs a quieter warning. Some things listen when you speak. Words were taught to walk ahead long before the speaker knows where they lead. Baelor's gift was the power of speech; his cost was that words, once released, could bind as easily as they could free. Like many songs born of Keeper encounters, Nothing Spoken Disappears preserves both the gift and the cost. It remembers the voice gained -- and the contracts that followed.

Like all songs of this world, it serves as memory. It is meant to be sung in a circle, and understood fully only in hindsight.
